I really liked the book!
It’s easy to read, but the plot is quite intriguing, reveals interesting facts from the lives of the characters and really teaches life, and sometimes even keeps you in suspense. I read it during a very difficult time in my life and the story of the main character, Jonathan, is somewhat similar to events that happened to me (except for the “crazy nanny” part, of course).
The characters and storytelling are great! I liked the way the author wove three seemingly different lives into one story, a path to finding one’s own happiness and peace. Jonathan’s dizzying adventures, Austin’s match, and Ryan’s lonely life skillfully conveyed different types of personalities, their life choices, and the psychology of different types of thinking. And the instructive stories of Aunt Margie and the ending of the story…… are simply incredible!
It’s hard not to “spoil” it, so I’ll just add that this book taught me how to live, allowed me to look at everyday things differently, and changed my worldview. It is worth reading for everyone!

The protagonist, Jonathan, was walking calmly along the coast when a gypsy woman suddenly approached him and reminded him of his death in the near future. This situation forced the man to change his perspective on many things in his life and live in a new way.

“The Day I Learned to Live is the second book by French writer Laurent Gounel that I have read. In my opinion, this work is weaker than God Always Travels Incognito in terms of the emotions it evokes, but it’s not bad either.
The novel is calm, easy to read, and the author’s language is clear. The author does not deviate from his style of teaching psychology in the format of a fictional story, which I personally like very much.
Themes raised in the novel:
The connection between all people;
the connection between man and nature;
the value of humanity, sincerity, benevolence, etc. in our lives;
perception of the fact of human mortality;
love and its manifestations;
true enjoyment of life;
setting the right values and priorities.
The book is interesting, although it seems that there is nothing super incredible in it; it is easy to read and I am unlikely to re-read it. But after reading it, I was left with a pleasant aftertaste, a slight smile on my face and some strange pleasant peace.

This is the third book by Laurent Gounel that I have read. The plot of the book is not so difficult to understand, the work is not difficult at all and is quite primitive. It deals with problems that can affect everyone, that can throw us off the track of life, but usually we know and know how to find a way out of such situations, and the book only allowed us to remember them. The book cannot boast of a great impact, it is impossible to get attached to the main character, it is impossible to feel his emotions, experiences and feelings. But the book is not bad, good for reading

“If everyone realized their value, the world would be a completely different place”
(Laurent Guénel)
We expect everything to change for the better when we have problems, troubles, and constantly complain about life, when everything is relatively good and these are just everyday problems that absolutely everyone has. What about the fact that you have only a few days or months left to live? Do you continue to complain for the last few days and wait for things to change for the better? No! You need to live here and now, even if you have little time left, and this is what the author teaches us. This book is full of enthusiasm, fascinating stories and advice that inspire and encourage us to appreciate every minute of life. After reading this incredible story, you immediately begin to rethink your life. Problems don’t seem so serious. And as always, there is an unexpected ending that will definitely not let you be disappointed.

This is my second book by this author, unlike the first (God Travels Incognito), this one is simpler, but no less positive and motivating than the first.
Imagine how you would react if you found out that you were going to die soon. So does the protagonist, who rethinks his whole life after learning such terrible information. It is this transformation that we observe during the reading.
Of course, the book did not tell us anything new (in philosophical terms). But it reminded us again that there is hope in life and everything can be changed, even if you are dying.
In addition, interesting facts were mentioned, for example, that the heart and intestines also have neurons like the brain. It was interesting to read how scientists have proven that plants communicate with each other by observing interesting situations in nature reserves.
And of course, the author added a bit of intrigue and there are secrets in the story that we will later solve.
So, I liked the book because of its lightness, sometimes philosophical reflections, interesting facts and observations. I liked the way the author added intrigue to the story – a small drama with insidious twists and turns in the storyline.
I recommend it to those who need something light and who need space for reflection. Who needs a boost of positive mood.
