This book is one of the best achievements of Ukrainian literature, this book is recognized in the world, and Shevchenko is known in every corner of the world. I have read this book in different years, both at school and as an adult – time changes, opinions change… Shevchenko is not only a wonderful poet and writer, he is also an artist, a person who has experienced many tragedies, changes, injustice, and describes all of this in his works. It’s not easy to read his poems and poems, they contain a lot of pain, horror, hard times when people were in slavery. Reading “Kobzar” you can reassess a lot of things in your life, Shevchenko in this book first of all opens the problem of the life of serfs, how they lived, attitude to them, life, condemnation, how people wanted only one thing – freedom. It is worth reading this book, it clearly conveys a time that was not easy for Taras Shevchenko himself, for a long time he was a serf, a difficult life, happiness and misfortune – all this is in the book.

The image of Taras Shevchenko is the first thing that comes to mind when we think of Ukrainian literature. Why is it that a writer who lived more than two hundred years ago is still considered to be the awakener of the Ukrainian people? Why do Kobzar’s words still echo painfully in our minds when it comes to justice, arbitrariness of politics, and inequality?
The answer is quite simple: Taras Shevchenko was simply a man who was above his time. His words seem to be relevant forever. For me, Shevchenko’s work is a kind of mirror into which you can look and find those corners of your soul that you would not want to expose to others. Shevchenko remains understandable and close not only thanks to the work of thousands of researchers who tirelessly learn about new details of the writer’s life, but also thanks to his own works, which sound like a passionate dialogue between two tired friends, but it is full not of pity but of a call to action, of that poisonous anger that can move mountains.

The soul of the Ukrainian people speaks through his mouth.
His heart was torn by injustice and pity for the people, who were deprived by the lord’s hand.
His eyes conveyed the beauty of his native Ukraine.
His soul filled with love for his homeland warms millions of people to this day.
Kobzar is a collection of poems and poems. Here, every word is imbued with pride for one’s country…
Hope for a better future.
Faith in the dignity of people.
Pain for injustice, shortsightedness and indifference.
There is also the sound of the Dnipro waves…
And the chirping of a nightingale…
And the red hem of the clouds that spread over the sea…
There is life and death here…
There is revival and decline…
There is a free and independent soul of Ukraine!
This book is the greatest symbol of the indestructibility of the Ukrainian spirit!
Everyone should have a Kobzar! And in such a design with beautiful color illustrations.
Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the heroes!

Everyone has probably heard of Taras Shevchenko. He has become a symbol of the Ukrainian people, the personification of their indomitable spirit, strength of mind and struggle for freedom.
The fate of Taras Shevchenko was extremely difficult: times of exile in distant harsh fortresses, a ban on writing and drawing, life in a foreign land, and a serious illness. But none of these hardships broke the genius of the Ukrainian people; he fought bravely for freedom and liberty, writing poetry that remains relevant today. In his poems, Shevchenko called for the appreciation of his native land, Ukraine, the love of his people, and the need to keep faith in a better future. In addition, he was not afraid to ridicule the kings, greed, and cruelty of the lords, and he paid the price for it – he was repeatedly sentenced to exile far from his native land.
“Kobzar” is the main collection of Taras Shevchenko’s poetry, ranging from fantasy poems to tragic poems about the fate of ordinary Ukrainians. I definitely recommend it for reading! And in such a wonderful design – “Kobzar” will become a real decoration of the home library!

Every country has its own writers who have become national favorites and are known all over the world. Their works are not just written on paper, they live in people’s hearts. Taras Shevchenko was such a writer for Ukraine. And that is why today every self-respecting Ukrainian, in my opinion, must have his collection Kobzar at home. Because this is our history, something worth being proud of, something worth telling and passing on to future generations.
The works tell about Ukrainian culture, traditions, nature, our glorious past, the common people and their life in captivity. All of them have a very deep meaning.
Special thanks to the Gloria publishing house for a wonderful and high-quality edition, a mesmerizing cover and beautiful illustrations that complement the poems. I bought the book as a gift, and although I already had one “Kobzar,” I must tell you that I liked it so much that I bought it for myself. Now it’s on my shelf, pleasing to the eye. I have read it in its entirety many times, but I can’t count the number of times I have read some of the works that have become my favorites.
