It’s a great book for both children and adults. I read this book a few years ago and it inspired me, guided me on the way to go through life. And recently I have opened this book again. And again it helped me. All my questions and problems disappeared by themselves, as if they had never existed. I am very grateful to the author Bodo Schaefer for the book and to the Staryi Lev Publishing House for the high-quality translation and beautiful design of the wonderful book about a girl named Kira, who helps to find the way to a happy future.
The first book was about money and how to manage it. This book is about emotions and feelings and how to manage them. There is an external world in which we need money, and there is an internal world – our feelings, relationships with others, and attitudes towards problems. Both worlds are an important part of life. “While learning to deal with the outside world, we also have to build our own character.”
Kira will be helped to understand how to experience injustice and how to treat hostile people so that they do not cause harm. They will also tell her the seven rules of life. Kira will understand: “Losers never win, because they always give up; those who do not give up are the favorites of fate…”
I advise you to read this book. It will fill you with energy and show you the way if you are lost. And for children, it will become a map to the unknown spaces of life. “In life, you only move forward. You stop from time to time to gain strength, but you never turn back.”

“Kira and the Secret of the Bagel is Bodo Schaefer’s second book about a girl and her extremely financially literate dog. The author uses a beautiful allegory to explain the basic principles of saving money, increasing it, and investing it in an accessible language. Despite the rather simple and child-friendly language, this book will be useful and interesting not only for the youngest readers, but also for adults.
The manner in which the author presents the basic elements and components of financial literacy is relaxed and at the same time easy to understand. Thanks to this, you do not feel like a schoolboy who is being pushed into his head with some difficult and incomprehensible knowledge, but instead feel like a kind of observer from the outside, in front of whose eyes all the events are unfolding. This creates a desire to try everything presented in the book on your own and to implement what is described in the book in your own life. The desire to learn and assimilate the material without any coercion and the author’s mentoring tone is just the perfect combination that can give real results. I recommend it to everyone!

First, I gave my son the book Kira and the Dog Called Mani as a standalone. It turned out there was a sequel! I ordered the 2nd part. The book did not disappoint, just like the first part, it was written perfectly. It is best for children when they learn something together with their peers. The book contains a lot of moments that an ordinary child can relate to, which is why all the information in the book fits into the heads of children without any problems! I read the book myself. It really teaches how to handle money wisely, plan and achieve goals, see opportunities, not obstacles!
The characters in the book really value the most important treasure of friendship and mutual respect. This is very relevant in our time, when everyone wants to fill the gap in financial education, and in the pursuit of material wealth, they neglect moral values. Which are the most precious treasure in themselves, a hole in a bagel, without which there is no bagel!
It is very important to keep these two qualities in balance, which Bodo Schaefer has done with an A+. In general, the book helped me to see my child from a different perspective, and we discussed the possibilities of realizing goals, not obstacles!

I’ve been familiar with Bodo Schaefer’s books for a long time! I decided to read this book after The Money Dog or the ABCs of Money, and I think it is a must-read after the above book.
The fact is that this book will help children not only to strive for wealth, but also to take care of their inner spiritual world, which is as important as the outer one, and most importantly, these two parts (sides of the coin) are very important for everyone. As a symbol, the author shows a bagel that has a ring (the financial component) and a hole (our inner world), which, although not visible, exists. For example, when we walk in the woods and fall into a hole (or again into a hole), we do not see it, but we are convinced of its existence. In general, there are a lot of examples, including the seven rules of life that will help you become a “great man”.
The artwork is as interesting as in the previous book. I would even say that I would like to read another sequel, because the idea is really worth your interest.
So read it! There’s not much about finances, but a lot about how to remain human with them and avoid the situation when, as they say, “the crown has grown on your head.”

I was interested in the book because of its title, since my name is also Kira, so I decided to buy it and I was right. The book turned out to be very interesting. It has pictures in it. This “series” of books, consisting of two books, was the first one I read from end to end. Only some time after reading it did I find out that it was a continuation of the book “A Dog Named Mani”. The book tells the story of a girl named Kira, whose dream will soon come true – she will fly to California, where she wants to study at a boarding school where she will find many friends. Kira is very friendly, and so it’s easy for her to make friends with someone, and that’s one of the differences between me and Kira from the book. Also in the book, Kira helped a girl named Anna overcome her illness. This book was written so that children could manage money, know and use the rules of life. Thanks to this book, I realized that you can earn money as early as 12 years old, you just need to do what you love. Kira walked and taught dogs commands. Kira has her own dog, Mani, who taught Kira how to manage money.
