I sincerely admire the work of Hryhoriy Skovoroda and the extraordinary personality of the author himself. He has become one of the iconic symbols of the creativity and philosophy of the Ukrainian people. Skovoroda’s fables still address many topical issues today, even though they were written more than a few hundred years ago!

The fables describe the world around us in a comprehensive and detailed way, about good and evil, about work and idleness, about the human soul and body. Moreover, reading such stories in a beautiful design is a real aesthetic pleasure. Each story is complemented by beautiful and detailed illustrations that are interesting to look at. I definitely recommend it for reading!

In the wonderful fables of Hryhorii Skovoroda, the author uses the example of ordinary, familiar animals to illustrate to readers the unknown, inner world of man, his character, peculiarities, and the boundless universe of the human soul.

In order to better understand the works, one needs to know the biography of Hryhorii Skovoroda himself, the Ukrainian Aesop, a wandering philosopher, an alchemist of philosophical sayings, the author of the words “The world caught me and did not catch me.” This is a man who was truly happy even without material possessions.

Such a unique book gave us more than one pleasant evening, because it contains quite informative works – fables by the famous philosopher Hryhoriy Skovoroda. The book “Hryhoriy Skovoroda. Fables” is a real find for us. I bought it for my daughter. The texts need to be understood, so the book is rather for older children, although some of the fables may be interesting for children from three years old. The fables are easy to read, they have color illustrations, and they all teach life’s wisdom and prudence. There are a lot of fables in the book. I am very pleased with our purchase.
