Something is over… Something is beginning…
A huge journey, an epic story about a witch, a girl, and a Destiny has ended… I confess that I expected something like this from Sapkovsky
Did you like it? Such a thoughtful and well-written saga cannot but be liked, although some of the characters are especially sorry, because let’s be honest, they died stupidly…
What did you like? Perhaps the thing I liked the most was how the story looped itself, like an ouroboros snake grabbing its own tail. Because the ending of the story actually left the characters where it began. An unexpected twist with Tsiri’s parents, although it would seem that Mr. Sapkovsky would not surprise me anymore.
It is in the latter book that it is beautifully shown that war, ideals and principles are nothing if pure politics comes into play.
What did you not like? In the last book, it feels even more like Sapkovsky himself is tired of this story (my subjective opinion only!).
I don’t quite understand why there were references to Camelot.
It was in the last part that I felt that all the witches (with the exception of Ian) merged into one vague image.
And lastly, I would have liked more background, for example, why they stopped creating new witches.
My favorite books are still 1, 2, and 5.

I finally read the last part of the saga.
“The Lady of the Lake” is the last volume of the saga about the witch Geralt, in which all the plots are combined, but do we get answers to the questions that bother us? The action takes place simultaneously in several time dimensions, we learn about the fate of Ciri, who has the ability to travel between worlds, and at the same time the story of Geralt, Jennefer and their friends is told.
In my opinion, this is the weakest part of the whole saga. The plot is a bit twisted, it doesn’t follow the events that happened before. Too much is unrealistic even for fiction. However, as a part of the Witcher saga, it is a must-read.
The book’s only drawback is its length. Sapkowski is famous for his anecdotes, sometimes they are really atmospheric, but sometimes they are simply unnecessary and only pull the cat by the tail.
But I generally like Sapkowski’s language. I liked the characters and descriptions of actions in this book. I really liked the description of the Battle of Brennia. The author perfectly builds tension, knows when to reveal the necessary information to the reader and when to keep him in suspense. The open ending is also interesting: Sapkowski leaves us free to interpret the final events. If I compare all the books in the saga, this is the last book in the ranking for me.

The seventh book in the series of novels about the witch, The Lady of the Lake, is a logically connected and consistent presentation of all the storylines that combine to bring us to the end of this epic story. Ciri finds herself in another world ruled by elves, but does not stay there for long. Geralt and his company go to meet the main antagonist, Wilhelmfortz, who has captured Jeneffer. In the witcher’s world, the war between the united kingdoms of the North and the invaders from Nilfgaard is coming to a logical conclusion, as they will meet in the epic battle of Brenna. In the same book, we will find out whether the Lodge of Sorceresses realized its plans and the fate of its main members. We should also be prepared for the loss of our favorite characters, because The Witcher positions itself as a serious novel with a realistic model of the world and the laws of interaction in it. The dramatic component reaches its peak in this book, each chapter is absorbed with interest and a desire not to come off until the end. And the ending itself, in my opinion, is worthy and quite exhaustively closes the main cycle of novels. All those who have reached the seventh book will swallow it with enthusiasm, and let everyone draw their own conclusions about the ending.

“The Lady of the Lake is the seventh and final installment of the series about the adventures of the Witcher Geralt of Rivia, as well as his Appointment of Cirilla and their other allies and enemies. It’s a rather lengthy story and, judging by the reviews, many may disagree with me, but as for me, it’s perhaps the best of all the witch books.
Because it’s the finale, all the storylines were finally brought together and they found some kind of logical conclusion. Finally, they found it and everything fell into place, because in the process of reading the previous books, I personally had a lot of questions about the necessity of some events. Seriously, I’ve read more than one series, and I can recall at least some of the main, brightest, and most decisive events in each of the books. For me, the Witcher series is a mishmash of monotonous events, and I can’t even remember what happened in which book and what it meant for the story as a whole.
The Lady of the Lake is a different matter. I really liked it. And even the fact that the author got rid of some characters so quickly was only a plus for me – I still didn’t manage to get attached to any of them.

It’s very difficult to describe this part because there are a lot of events and personalities, politics and pages, of course. The problem is that after reading it, I don’t remember whether some event took place in this book or in the previous ones. But maybe this is just my problem.
The beginning of The Lady of the Lake, to be honest, depressed me a lot. First of all, the story was narrated by a woman whose name I never remembered. Secondly, in my opinion, there were too many offshoots about things that never appeared in the book.
It gets even worse from there. As we remember from the previous part, Tsiri escaped from her abusers to the Swallow Tower, which is actually a concentration of magical energy that contains an infinite number of portals to countless different worlds. She finds herself in a depressing world of elves who want the same thing as everyone else, a child of the Elder Blood.
Ciri would not be Ciri if she did not escape from there with the help of Grasshopper, her old friend. It’s not clear why she couldn’t use similar magic later on.
I didn’t like the ending at all, because Geralt’s strange company was broken up by the death of all the members except the witch. I’m not a fan of happy endings, but they all died in a matter of pages. Yes, it was all for a good cause, but…
So, if you have already read the previous books, then finish this story for yourself. And even if you don’t like this part either, it should still summarize the story. Although even after that, there will be some unanswered questions.
