The Surgeon is the beginning of a series of investigations by Jane Rizzoli and Maura Eisle.
There are 12 books in the series, but you can read any book, each book has a new creepy story
I have read all the books that have been translated so far, as for me the story about the surgeon is less interesting than the following books. I liked how the author of the book tells about the main characters, about Rizzoli’s problems, she is the only woman among the detectives, almost everyone jokes about her and does not think that she can do her job and she should be a housewife, but is it true? And can a woman be better than a man in such a profession?
Detectives Thomas Moore and Jane Rizzoli begin investigating a series of brutal murders. He comes at night, enters the bedroom and the women are caught in a waking nightmare. The first victim was found in her apartment, her body was found by her brother. The girl was immobilized with duct tape on her wrists and ankles, her uterus was cut out, the girl was tortured, and all this while she was still alive, as evidenced by many facts.
Even in the annotation we learn that the killer imitates the handwriting of a maniac killed two years ago, this maniac has a surviving victim, she becomes the main target of a new criminal Are these maniacs connected to each other? And will the detectives be able to save the girl without risking themselves?

The plot is very interesting, the killer’s fantasies and autopsy are described in detail.
The book has tense, bloody moments, scenes of violence, so it is not for the faint of heart.
It was with this book that I began my acquaintance with this author. I read it, however, already 1-2 years ago, but I can say with confidence that it is worth your attention, like many of her other books.
