Judy Moody has a new friend from the parallel 3-B class, a girl named Aimee Naimi. It turns out that Judy is not the only one with a first name that rhymes with her last name… and Judy’s closest friends say that the girls are very similar in behavior and personality. At first, Judy worries that she is no longer special and unique, but then decides that it is better to make friends with her “new enemy. So now Judy and Aimee are not only friends and like-minded people, but also members of the real rhyming name club… But when you decide to be friends with someone new, you can’t forget about your old faithful friends, because they might be offended and refuse to do a school project together. Judy has a difficult task – to prepare the project on her own (otherwise Judy will let down not only her own, but also a parallel class), to win the trust of Rocky and Frank and to prove to everyone (and especially to herself) that she is a good friend and knows how to correct mistakes…
The book is incredibly easy to read, written with humor, like all the books in the series about the irrepressible Judy Moody.

“Judy Moody Around the World in 8 1/2 Days” is the seventh book in the series about the irrepressible red-haired third-grader, a favorite of all schoolchildren around the world! Actually, our acquaintance with her took place thanks to this publication: it turned out to be more than successful, and even grew into a real friendship – we have already bought another book about her, and we plan to buy the rest (we hope VSL will translate the series about her younger brother Stink)).
So, one day our Judy meets… her double! It’s Aimee Naimie, a girl from a parallel class, a gum-chewing reporter. “Now Judy Moody felt not like the only one, but like a photocopy. Duplicated, not original, just a boring old clone.” Fortunately, the girls became friends, and this is how we learn about the existence of the Rhyming Names Club and the feat of the desperate reporter Nellie Bly, who raced around the world in 72 days, 6 hours, 11 minutes, and 14 seconds. But with a new friend comes a dilemma: how do you devote time to old friends?
As an adult, it was very interesting and informative for me to learn about Nellie Bly, a person inspired by reading Jules Verne’s novel Around the World in 80 Days: what if a real person tried to break the record of a fictional character? On behalf of her newspaper, a reporter sets off on a trip around the world, taking only a small bag with the most necessary things.
In general, I liked the author’s idea of creating an exciting, fun, and surprisingly informative story that will keep even the most avidly non-reading children engaged until the last page. Bright, dynamic, and unobtrusively instructive – this is the kind of book that every schoolchild should have in their library!

The second book of this really interesting, kind and funny famous series of books about a cute and funny redheaded girl Judy Moody has already been added to our home children’s library. The author of this original and popular children’s book series, which is well-known and loved by children in many countries, is Megan McDonald, a well-known, contemporary American children’s writer whose works are extremely good, full of optimism and trust, and at the same time they are also not devoid of educational moments, which are presented by the author rather as examples from life, so that the child has an idea of what can happen and under what circumstances, when to be careful and vigilant.
Megan McDonald’s light, entertaining works are very popular in the United States and abroad.
Their beautiful, positive and simple stories are extremely fascinating for children, instilling in them a love of reading and a desire to learn new and unknown things. We were also very interested to learn that Megan MacDonald’s first book, Is This Really the House of the Hermit Cancer? won two literary awards. Megan MacDonald is the author of more than forty well-known books, among which the most popular among children’s audiences is undoubtedly the series about Judy Moody and her younger brother Stink. In addition, a movie was made based on the story of Judy Moody in two thousand and eleven.
Our favorite, just an irrepressible red-headed girl Judy Moody was very popular with our kids for her optimism, kindness, and her incredible imagination, which must certainly get into some stories, but always finds a way out, even from very confusing situations.
This edition of Judy Moody Around the World in 8 1/2 Days was published by the well-known and extremely popular today among a wide range of readers publishing house “Old Lion Publishing House” and belongs to the well-known series of books “Children’s Books for Reading”. This children’s book is presented in the beautiful Ukrainian language. The translation was done by an extremely talented specialist, an expert translator Natalia Yasinovska. The book is easy to read, with great pleasure, one might say in one breath. This edition was published in two thousand and eighteen and is recommended for children aged six and over. I would also like to speak very positively about the original design of this book for children by the talented illustrator Peter Reynolds. His black-and-white original illustrations, in our opinion, complemented the story very well and were able to decorate the publication itself.
Your child will love this interesting edition of Judy Moody Around the World in 8 1/2 Days, and it will also be a great addition to their home children’s library!

The book “Judy Moody Around the World in 8 1/2 Days” shows the world through the eyes of elementary school students. Each character in these books is a bit peculiar, with his own unique character and at the same time they are very realistic. You’re sure to meet a couple of the same guys in your own school, or maybe you yourself are. It’s the realism of the characters that is so appealing to children in Judy Moody adventure books, because it gives them role models for behavior and the opportunity to associate themselves with the characters.
The book has many funny moments, descriptions of school everyday life, and generally shows a good perspective of elementary school children on the world around them. The stories written by Megan McDonald teach children how to do the right thing, correct their mistakes, and be a good friend. I really liked the black and white illustrations. They are simple and cute.
The Adventures of Judy Moody is one of the best children’s book series I have ever read. The book makes me smile when I read it, which in turn inspires me to buy another story and the adventures of Judy Moody. It is a fascinating journey for young readers that can inspire them to read more different literature.

I’m reading Megan McDonald’s book about my favorite, Judy Moody, again. This time it’s Judy Moody Around the World in 8 1/2 Days. I sincerely admire the adventures and character of this girl. She often reminds me of myself, especially in her behavior and even her friends. I also have Rocky and Frank Pearl, with whom I constantly find myself in some interesting situations. I also rejoice with the heroine of the book over her achievements, and I get very indignant if something goes wrong.
The story of this book is about a new girl reporter, Aimee Naimi (that’s how she introduced herself at the beginning of the meeting). Rocky and Frank immediately took a liking to this young lady, with her constant questions about the school cafeteria. I would say she was a pro, because she so skillfully drew them into the whirlwind of journalistic events that they did not realize it. You have a school project coming up, and then your friends don’t seem to be your friends anymore. What will Judy Moody do this time? How will she save the day? Will the friends complete the long-awaited project, and what does the story have to do with a trip around the world in 8 ½ days? All this is in the new book by Jennifer Moore-Mallinos. I don’t want to reveal all the cards, because it won’t be as interesting.
And now about the design. I really like Staryi Lev Publishing House for books like this. The cover is hard, made of thick cardboard. And, of course, how can it be without the image of redheaded Judy on its surface? The pages are pleasant to the touch, it’s a pleasure to flip through them. I adore this wonderful aroma of the new edition… It feels as if my grandmother has just pulled pies out of the oven. Ruddy, fragrant…))) And what are the illustrations here! They are beautiful. In general, the work of the author, translator, and artist is very thorough. I liked everything about it.
So I wish to plunge into the incredible adventures of my favorite Judy as soon as possible. I definitely recommend the book! It is a must-read for everyone! The highest rating from me.
