Meet Inspector Dill! He is a well-known detective in the fairy-tale town of Forestville, and most importantly, an expert on emotions, and when a family in the town does not know what the strange thing is going on, they immediately invite him to take over. As expected, Inspector Diehl never parted with his toolbox, which contains a notebook, pen, pencil and eraser (and how could he not! )), a high-precision camera (to capture a subtle smile or any other almost imperceptible changes in appearance), an electronic thimble (a device for measuring the intensity of sweating, trembling, heart rate), a mask for determining respiratory rate), a special magnifying glass, and – ta-da!
Inspector Deal’s emotion meter can be found at the end of each book. This ingenious invention helps to recognize emotions and measure their intensity. The gadget is a paper wheel divided into ten sectors, each of which is painted in a certain color and corresponds to a certain emotion, namely joy, sadness, anger, fear, envy, jealousy, surprise, disgust, shame, and love. Measuring emotions is a subjective process that depends only on the user’s personal perception.
Inspector Diehl is assisted by Amy: Jolly, Scaredy, Dull, Jealous, Red, Jealousy, Surprised, Angry, Squeamish, and Huggy. These funny characters personify all of the above emotions.
What is an emotion? It is a process that occurs only under certain circumstances, causing physiological reactions and changes in our body, both pleasant and not so pleasant, for one thing: control over the situation.
Inspector Dil’s Emotion Meter is an absolute must-have for every family! It will teach you how to recognize, measure and manage your emotions in a fun, easy and interesting way, because our common goal is to achieve understanding and harmony with ourselves and others in the most acceptable way for everyone.

A very interesting and attractive book for children. I took it just for lessons with my child. Recently there is more and more useful literature aimed at developing and helping the baby, so I was happy to buy this version. The main advantage of the book is that it can be read not only to young children but also to schoolchildren. After all, the book explains in simple and accessible language for a child the value of each emotion, what its advantages and disadvantages are, as well as an explanation of how to manage emotions that they do not bring chaos into our lives. This book will also appeal to parents. I had a good feeling reading it. The book is of excellent quality, hardcover, with color illustrations, the paper is quite thick, the font is large, ideal for reading with a child. The interesting stories made it easier for my child to understand the book and its message. I really liked that the book also has a section with recipes, where the baby can turn for themselves the information on how to properly cope with a variety of emotions.

A relatively new book on our shelf, not yet read to the end, but it evokes certain emotions from the very first opening. First of all, I would like to note the high quality of the printing, cover and pages of the book. The illustrations of this book are very bright, interesting and understandable for children’s minds. The content of the book includes stories about the ten emotions of the crocodile Dil, which are also inherent in humans – joy, sadness, anger, fear, envy, jealousy, surprise, shame, disgust and, of course, love! The book teaches how to recognize emotions, divide them into positive and negative, and how to manage emotions. The book begins by explaining what emotions are and how they affect our lives. The book goes on to tell the first story that was the beginning of Dil the Crocodile’s work as an emotion investigator. The crocodile spends enough time looking at and describing emotions to convey to children the essence of each emotion and how they can influence it. Also, at the end of the book, there are ten “recipes” for each of the described emotions. I would like to add that a nice addition after reading this book is the invention of Inspector Deal, thanks to which you can recognize and measure your own emotions, a cardboard “emotion meter”, which is located on the last page of the book. In general, the book is very good, interesting and informative. It can be re-read depending on the child’s age and perception.
