One day I decided to watch a series of Harry Potter movies. I was interested… I decided to read the book… And I couldn’t stop. Now I have the entire series on my shelf, and I don’t regret it. This is an incredibly fascinating story that I want to read again and again.
And no, watching a movie and reading a book are not the same thing. Here you will learn a lot about the life of Harry and his friends that was not shown in the movie. And the book is read in one breath, it’s hard to stop. It would seem that you have seen the movie and know how it will end, but your hands turn over a new page, your eyes greedily absorb new letters of the word and your imagination builds that magical world in front of you. The wonderful description of all the events, locations, and feelings of the characters allows you to feel like a part of the magical community, to experience all those joys and sorrows together with Harry, Ron, and Hermione. I must say, I laughed while reading and cried…
To summarize, I want to say that these books are definitely worth your attention, no matter how old you are. They will be relevant at any age)

I am ashamed to admit that I am already at such a respectable age (18 years old) and I have just read the first part of Harry Potter. This world-famous series has essentially become a fantasy classic, and only the lazy have not heard of it. And I’m not a lazy person (sort of), so as a respectable book lover and fantasy fan, I couldn’t ignore these books. At first, I decided to read them in electronic format, but I quickly realized that such a work as Harry Potter should be read only in paper form. So I changed my tactics and dug up an old Abrams edition from 2002. So, I read Harry Potter and here’s what I want to say.
It’s a good book. That’s it. Go away.
No, I’m not joking. It’s a really good book for me – no more, no less. It was quite atmospheric to read it in the fall, fascinating, even witty in places, but unfortunately, I cannot say that I have become a fan of The Boy Who Lived. What are the reasons for this? Well, perhaps age is taking its toll. Secondly, the film adaptation, which I don’t really like, also influenced my vision of the story. Because no matter how hard I tried, I imagined Harry as Daniel Radcliffe and Hermione as Emma Watson. I am sincerely jealous of those people who read The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter before the movies came out and have their own idea of the “picture”. However, I did not have such a priority. However, I will continue to familiarize myself with the Potter world, but it will be just another book for me.

A story for the heart, there is no other way to put it. I’m a grown woman with grown children, but I’m just in love with this magical story. Sometimes I think that I could write about Harry, because when I was a child I used to play with wands all the time, put on an invisibility cloak, and fly on a broomstick. Why is this book so popular? It’s simple. In childhood, almost everyone experienced some kind of stress and dreamed of how this or that problem would be solved by magic. A little boy grows up in a family where he is a nuisance to everyone. He is often insulted and emphasized that he is superfluous. It is incredibly difficult to live in a house where one child is on an idol pedestal and the other lives in the corner with mops. The former gets new things and gifts, while the latter is left with only leftovers. The life of an orphan is bitter, and the child is defenseless against the cruelty and indifference of adults. But on the boy’s birthday, everything changes. Harry makes his first friend, Hagrid, who opens up the world of wizards for him. A world where everything is different. The most delicious thing about this story is that Rowling connected the wizarding world with our real one. And she did it so exquisitely that even I believed it! After all, she had to think through all the details.

The story about the boy who survived happened to me 5 years ago, but I still reread it every year, just because it brings me fond memories of a carefree time, when there were no serious problems and faith in magic was a little more. Rereading this story each time it opens a new side and you note the moments you wouldn’t have paid attention to before.
I remember the first time I picked up “The Philosopher’s Stone” in the library; the book was shabby, duct-taped, some pages barely held in one place, etc.. At that time it angered me, saying that how you can treat a book like that, but now it gives me the understanding that it was read, that it brought a new story to their lives, that maybe it even opened the world of reading for someone. I, on the other hand, became a mixture of the first and third choices. I am incredibly grateful to Joan Rowling for bringing such a world of magic that will forever be in my heart (and not just mine, but millions of others).
I recommend this series of books, to all those dreamers and all those who do not know which book to enter into the world of books. Because I assure you, it was thanks to “Harry Potter” that I discovered a thousand book worlds, and I learned a lot. And it is thanks to the publishing house A-Ba-Ba-Ga-La-Ma-Ga that I started to read books in Ukrainian translation.
P.S.: Books are much better than movies, at least because there are interesting details and moments that were undeservedly not shown in the movies!

A magical and mystical book “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” published by A-ba-ba-ga-la-ma-ha. This is the first book in a series of books by J.K. Rowling. Despite its considerable size, the book is quite easy and fast to read, thanks to its interesting and fantastic plot.
The book is about a boy who he thought was quite ordinary and unremarkable, Harry Potter, but who turned out to be a talented wizard. He lived with his aunt and uncle, and he thought his parents had died in a car accident, but it was not so. His fascinating story began on his eleventh birthday. Harry found new, good friends, learned so many fantastic things and mysterious stories. He also found out the truth about his parents, who were powerful wizards, and that he was a very special boy. In general, he helps the child to think about the fact that he is also special, but he does not know it.
I really liked this book and recommend it not only to children but also to their parents. This book can also serve as a great gift.
