I saw and bought the book “Funny Games” when my daughter was two years old. For the first year of her life, I used to sing her rhymes that I remembered from my childhood. Later, I bought a thin book of similar rhymes and rhymes that the child would not let go of. So I decided to buy this book with a lot of different rhymes. If I had come across this book earlier, when my daughter was still a baby, I would have bought it without a doubt. A large number of rhymes on a variety of topics from a child’s life. Beautiful pictures accompany almost every rhyme. Some of them have been known to us for a long time, and my daughter was surprised that we read them from the new book, she was very happy to hear them again. She looked at each picture with great interest. Some of the games were new to us, and we will gradually learn most of them and introduce them into our everyday life. In general, rhymes are cool: we are waiting for someone on a bench on the street, or in a queue – we play rhymes, we are stomping on long roads – we also play rhymes, sing them, etc. I recommend it.

Since childhood, we have memorized various rhymes, but as it turned out, we don’t know any of them from beginning to end. And what kind of movements correspond to such fun even more so. And then we came across this wonderful book. In a situation where parents are sleep deprived, overworked and do not have the emotional resources to entertain their children in an interesting way, this book is a godsend. There is no need to invent anything – you open the book, read and act.

Interesting short texts are accompanied by line-by-line instructions on what to do with these words. Rhythmic words accompanied by moving manipulations are extremely popular with babies and older toddlers. The developmental effect of games is undeniable. It is entertainment, exercise, light massage, familiarity with the body, outdoor games, development of fine and gross motor skills, positive emotions, promotion of the beginning of speech, and help to the mother. Another important point is that children get used to traditions. The poems are easily memorized by both adults and kids when they start talking. In the book, you can find games for different situations in the lives of kids. We even use some of them during our walks. The children are delighted and eagerly repeat all the words and perform the corresponding movements.

Each spread of the book contains the text of one or two games and a picture to go with it. The illustrations are cute, though sometimes a little strange, but children take them well. The colors are calm and pastel. The printing of this edition is very high quality. It is a helper book. We really liked it and are satisfied.

Flipping through the pages of “Funny Games” from Chas Masters, I was transported back to my childhood. I remembered how my mother used to play with me “Tosi-tosi…”, “Kuy-kuy boot…”, “Magpie-Crow”, while touching my arms and legs. I remember how much I loved to repeat after her, even pronouncing some words in my own way. These memories make me feel warm and cozy. So now that I am raising my own child, I am glad to have a book like this, which contains the best children’s games – both well-known and those that I read for the first time. I was especially pleased to come across several variants of games for massage, which are great alternatives to the well-known “Rails, rails, sleepers”.

This book is beautiful not only for its content, but also for its beautiful illustrations by the artist Olha Kuznetsova. Without exaggeration, each individual illustration is a full-fledged picture-opde to childhood. The skillfully painted children’s hands and feet that adorn the cover are just love. Therefore, “Zabavlyanky” also develops children’s artistic taste.

In addition, the book is very high quality. The pages are made of thick paper, the corners are rounded so that the child does not get hurt while flipping through. The size is also optimal – not one of those giant ones, and not “in the palm of your hand”.

Funny stories. This genre of folklore is used mainly for kids. Knowledge of such rhymes for moms and dads is an additional tool for quickly establishing contact with the child, improving his or her mood, and having a developing effect, both mental and physical.

I remember how eight years ago I was looking for a book like this for our family. Of course, he who seeks will find. Although it was not easy: there were few rhymes, and even if there were enough, not all of them sounded good, only a few could be used, the illustrations were not good, and I wanted it in my native language. It’s been a long time since that book has been in our house. We usually give them to friends. But not this one. It is filled with gentle energy and gives us warm memories.

It is very nice that there are people who understand the importance of such books and create them for us.

When we meet, we say: “Hi, how are you? What are you doing now?”. But how do you talk to a very small child? After all, the fact that he doesn’t know how to answer yet is not an excuse not to communicate with him! Funny stories are a kind of language between an adult and a child. The child listens to the intonations, gets acquainted with the melodiousness of the language, tries to understand the mood of the interlocutor. Moreover, he/she feels the touches that accompany the rhymes: his/her palm is stroked, hands are raised up…

And also learns about what surrounds him: he is surprised at how fat the hippo is and how high the bunny jumps (or not as high as an adult can)

This particular edition is full of not only interesting activities, but also cute drawings. So tender that you want to touch them, like a little child, like childhood…
