In his free time, he actively popularizes botany—he runs a blog and Youtube channel “Dovkolabotanika,” the page “Botanist in Sneakers,” writes for the Facebook page of the Natural History Museum, where he talks about reptiles, apples, minerals, and dinosaurs, and several other science-popular platforms.
Oleksiy decided to become a botanist back in the 6th grade and has not changed his mind since. “Studying plants and being genuinely fascinated by them is one of those things that will save the world. And as it says on my family crest, ‘Don’t be a grump—study botany!'” Oleksiy smiles.
