I like cats and that’s why I love stories about them. Maybe it’s a little kitten who lost his mom and his home. Luckily, a boy named Yohei found him very quickly and his parents allowed him to live with them. This is how Chi’s adventures began.

I liked the chapters “Chi is lost” and “Chi attacks”. These are the funniest parts of the book. I liked the story and the pictures. All the characters are funny, except for Dad. He is pensive.

The paper is thick enough for me to read comfortably and even after many readings the book is in good condition. I’m looking forward to buying the next installment to find out about Chi’s new adventures))

Having looked at the age for which this book is targeted (6-8 years old), don’t rush to put it down if you are a little older. Because this story is not only for children. It’s for those who love cats and want to follow the story of Chi, a small but brave cat.

This manga by Konami Kanata has 12 volumes in the original edition, and we can read only 4 in Ukrainian (we want to believe that so far). But this reading is worth the time and effort, even if you have never read manga before. It’s not scary and very enjoyable. Especially if you like cats.

“Chi. The Life of a Cat is a story about a little lost kitten who found not just a family and a home, but also true friends. Mom, dad, the boy Yohei, and later the neighbor’s cat Chernysh open up a big world for little Chi, which may not be scary at all if you have someone to rely on and play with. We meet Chi when she is still a kitten, and together with us she grows up, learns to eat and go to the cat’s potty, realizes who she is and who is around her. In the house where the family lives, it is forbidden to have animals, and Chi’s existence becomes a game of “hide from the concierge”. And for the reader, these 4 books are a joy, and they are beautifully drawn)

The manga tells the story of a small, yet unnamed kitten.

It lost its mother and found itself in a scary world where dogs, cars, and other incomprehensible threats are waiting for it.

But fortunately for the furry little guy, there was a loving family who took him in. But they can’t keep him, because the house where they rent an apartment is not allowed to keep animals.

The family’s mother tries to adopt the cat from one of her friends, but no one wants it.

That’s how the little creature stayed with the family illegally.

It begins to go through the stages of a pet’s life – bathing, blow-drying, toilet training, getting a name, visits to the vet. And then we find out that Chi is a girl. And in the veterinary clinic Chi underwent a painful procedure for which she cannot forgive her father. But Dad is trying to make amends in every way possible, so he spoils Chi as much as he can.

Chi has already gotten used to living with her new family, but she still remembers her own mom.

This is such a sweet manga. And not only for children.

It will be interesting for all cat lovers.

I must say right away that both my five-year-old son and I are completely delighted with the stories of Chi the kitten, who first got lost and then found a new family. Our acquaintance with this series began with watching the long-running anime, the last season of which was released two years ago. We didn’t want to say goodbye to the characters we were so used to, so I started looking for the manga, which was the basis for the animated series, written by Konami Kanata. We could not even dream of an English or Japanese edition – they were impossible to get. So we were about to buy the Russian version when we noticed at Yakaboo that a Ukrainian edition of our favorite story was coming! And several volumes at once!

We were waiting for the parcel with great impatience, but I immediately noticed that for some reason Nasha Idea Publishing House decided to turn the manga into a regular comic book. That is, you should read The Life of a Cat from the first page, not the last, as is typical for this genre. This is its highlight, and I don’t understand what the publishing house was guided by!

It’s also very jarring that Ukrainian translators can’t decide on the gender of the unfortunate cat. Even in the table of contents, this is striking: for example, one chapter is called “Chi the Lost,” and next to it is “Chi the Explorer,” and so on several times. This really spoils the impression of the book, even though it is otherwise well done. I don’t know what’s wrong with the other volumes, but this one disappointed.

The first volume of manga created by Japanese artist Konami Kanata. This is her most famous work. It has 12 volumes and has been adapted into movies.

This is a story about a cute kitten who was unlucky enough to get lost. It is very scary to be a little cat alone on the street. Fortunately, the striped poor thing was picked up by a family and Chi’s life was filled with new experiences and events.

If you had a cat, especially a kitten, you will immediately plunge into memories. And someone will find out what it’s like to have a restless ball of fur.

Simple and warm stories seem true and alive, and you catch a smile on your face. The author vividly conveys the emotions of the furry in each drawing. You can open any page and look at it. Many of the drawings are so expressive that you just want to see this face somewhere in your notebook or bookmark.

This is an adapted (mirrored) version, read from left to right. It is glued with high quality, but we must understand that this type of book does not open completely 180 degrees. The paper is relatively thick, cream-colored. You can see the outline of the picture on the back page if you look closely. It is not noticeable and does not interfere with reading. The print quality is good, the picture does not float, it is clear and does not double.

This book was positively evaluated by my friends in their 30s and 60s, and younger children can also enjoy it.
