A warm, sincere, and kind story about a priest, Jeremy, and his childhood friend, Alice. These two made a revolution in the church. They found the courage to convey to people what is hidden in the biblical texts. They deciphered the messages of Jesus, left many centuries ago, which came down to us in a “distorted” form.
Alice analyzed Eastern religions, found similarities and differences between them and Christianity. She and Jeremy found divine power and shared with others how to do it.
Who is God according to the religious teachings of different nations? How are the messages of Gods to humanity deciphered? What prevents a person from finding God in himself? What is the ego and what are its goals? How can one neutralize the ego and see one’s own value?
“A friend of mine told me a Hindu legend,” Alisa said, “about the time when everyone was a god. People abused their divinity so much that the creator god Brahma decided to take it away from them and hide it where they could not find it. The minor gods suggested burying it deep in the ground, but Brahma said that people would dig and find it. Maybe at the bottom of the ocean? No, they would dive and pull it out. The gods ran out of ideas: there was no place where man could never reach. Then Brahma said: “Let’s hide man’s divinity in the depths of man’s being, because that is the only place where it will never be sought.” The legend ends with the fact that since then man has searched the earth and the depths of the ocean in search of what is actually stored in himself.”
Everything Laurent Gounel wrote in this book is extremely close to me. As in other books by the author, this one also contains a lot of interesting information about the religions of the world, mythology and psychology.
I am delighted with this book!

The main idea of the book is to free yourself from your ego, not to hide behind roles, to discover your true self and find your true value.
Not bad, but wow. I was delighted after reading the book God Always Travels Incognito. I picked up this book next and was disappointed. Of course, they cannot be compared. But I recommend it for fans of the author’s work.
Laurent Gounel so skillfully combines the artistic with the spiritual, psychology and motivation. Due to this, the book is easy to read, has meaningful reflections and important things to think about.
Alice, an atheist, undertakes to help her friend Jeremiah, a Catholic priest who is disillusioned with his work. She tries her best, but only 12 people attend the service. Alice begins to study the Gospels, then delves into Taoism, astrophysics, and philosophy. Together they change the church’s service to a more modern one.
I disagree with many of the ideas in the book, including the idea that God is not something external, but lives inside us, that is, that man has a divine nature. This is nonsense.

I bought the book primarily because of the attractive and alluring title, as well as liked the design and layout of the cover. I also really liked the design of the book and the cover design. It is a very comfortable format, the book is not large, I liked that the font in the book is quite large, easy to read at any time of day or night. Most of all I was pleased with the author’s style, the book is written in simple language, even in those moments where it touches on serious topics. This book is not so much about Christianity and faith, but rather about how people come to this or that knowledge, how it affects the inner world and how one begins to look at things differently. Through help, the main character discovered many talents in herself, questioned and searched for answers. Perfect for skeptics who can’t find answers to questions about the spiritual life and its components. A very informative story that will not leave anyone indifferent.

Definitely not Laurent Gounel’s best work.
I read it only because I liked all of his previous works and liked them.
“And You Will Find a Treasure Within You” is not at all like his other works, it is more religiously charged. The book is perfect for those who are currently in search of themselves, their purpose in life, when choosing a life path, who find themselves in a difficult life situation. Even for atheists. Because it’s not really about believing in God and going to church every day to worship him, but about the fact that God is in each of us, God is inside us. And in general, who is God or what is Deity?
There are quite a few quotes from the Bible and different interpretations of them, and not only from the point of view of the Christian religion, as the main character Alice turned to different sources and religions and looked for similarities and answers to questions.
I liked the answers and advice of the priest Jérémie in the confessional about the sins of believers.
And in general, if you dive deeper into the content, the question arises: who really helped whom? Alice to Jeremy or Jeremy to Alice? Alice, an avowed atheist, read the entire Bible several times to help her childhood friend. Then Alice looked at Divinity from a completely different perspective.
Overall, I found the book a bit monotonous, so my rating is 4/5.

Keeping with tradition, as soon as a new Laurent Gounel product from KSD comes out, I have to buy it for my collection. Especially since it has such a beautiful cover with bicycles 🙂
I use this light motivational literature in a convenient format to dilute more complex books.
Although it is easy to read, optimistic, perhaps predictable, but, in fact, I really liked it, perhaps the most of all the author’s books.
If God Always Travels Incognito impressed me at the time because I didn’t expect anything from it, the situation here is similar: I thought the book was weaker, but it turned out not to be.
And if in God is Always… there is only a title about God, then here, on the contrary, the whole essence is built on the Bible and Christianity.
Nevertheless, I think that it is possible and even worth reading for skeptical atheists, because the main character was one herself 😉
Alice undertakes to help her friend Jeremy increase the number of parishioners in his church.
Will the girl succeed?
What methods will she use?
The book is about Jesus and about Him in us, about finding inner strength, resources, and discovering our talents.
This is a non-standard approach to Christianity and self-love.
I recommend it to fans of the author’s work and not only.
